Speaking from my heart . . .
According to today’s standards, we women are trained from a very early age that we should be career-minded first and family-minded last. I know this can be a controversial subject. I realize a lot of women work outside the home because it is absolutely necessary to live and survive, and I have so much respect for those who do – I’ve been there!
With a little age behind me now, I can see that I spent precious time after deciding to be with my children at home, leaving the work force feeling ashamed and somehow beneath my peers who still maintained working outside the home. Thankfully, God began working in my heart and molded it in a way that I could have never expected. I began to really see that I was a good mother – not perfect, but a mother who loved her children and her husband unconditionally and that my role as the keeper of our home was just as important as my job that I left in the medical field.
My hope is to encourage women by sharing what I’ve learned over the years and what I continually learn daily with mothers who may be feeling like being a stay-at-home mom is not important, and not very glamorous. But rest assured – your role as a wife, mother and keeper of your home is very important and special indeed!
